It's a simple matter of typing /petname This will revert his name to the original name he has.

Nice changes
Allthough i would like to know how that 20 miniatures limit would work
Seeming as many people will now just stand afk in towns to show their "leet" minipets

Nice!!! I'm more and more impressed each day by the ever growing amount of content that Gaile and the design team let loose about. One suggestion though: Make holiday events a suprize from now on! That would be so sweet!

Hope it includes something like this: Description of selected skill is always visible in the skill panel, so you dont have to keep re-hovering over it to show the numbers after you make a change in attributes AND/OR breakpoint charts like the ones on the wiki.

I think this is only a problem due to GW's pve design, which values smashing through endless seas of braindead mobs with direct damage skills, over outsmarting enemies with strategic play. I hope that instead of just buffing mesmer skills, the changes are more along the lines of improving AI, and giving the mobs better skill bars. For example, adding mob monks that know how to use Zealous Benediction will mean groups can no longer c-space their way through, and it would be adventageous to have a mesmer that can shut them down. Hex duration on bosses is another thing I hope is being looked at.

Well, don't thank me, I'm just sharing with you guys. But hey, I guess it's nice that, if one person seems inclined always to shoot the messenger, someone else is kind enough to thank her.
Just an timeline update on the update:
The team is working on a little tweak that they need to make, and I believe that we're still on track to roll the build today. I cannot estimate an hour just now, and if it gets too late, well, it'll go tomorrow. Now, don't make me regret the sneakpeek by getting impatient on me, it's coming!

The updates sound fair so far, and most of the buffs made last time around, helped balance the nerfs to skills, however some problems still remain.
With ranger traps, all the traps with the exception of barbed trap are displaying correct damage as in skill discribtion, however barb trap is displaing 4 time less then discribtion. I had 18 percing damage plus 18 second bleed and criple condition, when triggred the enemy only took 4 damage. Please investigate.
Lastly, understanding that balance needs to be achieved for PvP play, you might want the devs to consider buffing certain skills that are more useful in PvE to help compinsate for nerfs that can also effect PvE greater then PvP play. This way we can have an equal balancing of skills, so PvE doesn't have to suffer so that PvP can be balanced.

Kudos for the info, Gaile! ANet seems to be getting better and better at their jobs every year.
Logging out to the Character Screen: Since my typing speed is like 95 WPM, I don't really care too much, but it will add some convenience.
Pets in town: Yay! Miniature racing and a way to show off. :P
Ranger Bow Skill/Pet Changes: Yay again! Since my main is a R/Me, I'm for anything ranger-related.
Mesmer PvE Options: Yay yet again! I made a primary mesmer recently and they're one of my favorite classes, it's good to know they will have more options in PvE, since they are mostly in PvE domination (interruptions and such).

All of this sounds rather intriguing, and so soon after the major skill updating!
Mini-Pets are interesting thought, and glad to see they've increased the Celestial Pig Mini-Pet (Ok, I'm speculating here. BUT! Come on, it's Year of the Celestial Pig, mini-pet prize...hmm, I ponder) is very good.
And! Alsitha Freit will soon get more PvE options! Very excited about this, as I'm sure Avarre and the other Known-Mesmers are as well

A helpful feature would be the ability for people to see who else is on in their alliance, not just their guilds.

Limiting to 3 per class per group in PvP would fix that easily without completely breaking a class for all other types of gameplay.

You're missing the point of how to fix things also. This mean no more necro spike, iway, ele spike, ranger spike etc. If they do this more people will complain because they can no longer play those builds.

I hope the mini-pets aren't audible if they are going to be cruising around town... the dragons and trolls of my guildmates annoy me enough as-is.

Well, I believe I'll go ahead and delete my Paragon as she'll be useless once all the changes are over *sigh* She's too young to be hated!

You would be joking us correct Lady?
After the big "Elementalist Nuking Nerf" about a year or so ago, I thought much the same but held onto my eldest character.
Now, the Elementalist can solo several differents spots including both FoW (Beach, and Forest) along with Underworld.

amazing update. Probably the best news i've heard in general this week. The log-in update is probably the best part too. I've been longing for easier character switching for so long now.
